Thank you so much to everyone who was so supportive last night when I was losing my mind. I was mentally frozen and also incapable of staying in one place for more than 5 minutes.
Mom is in the ER because of an infection, they think bronchitis, which developed after hip replacement surgery. So she’s coughing like crazy, in 10/10 pain every time she has to pee, and she’s having trouble breathing because of congestive heart failure. Oddly. This made me feel better. This is sadly the norm for my mom. So we are back into familiar territory. I’m hopeful that she will heal quickly but it’s not generally the case. She’s immunosuppressed as she had a kidney transplant after open heart surgery trashed her kidneys.
So here we are. It’s hard to feel a sense of emergency all of the time but none of the time, ya know? She feels like Job from the Bible who just gets plagues and pestilence over and over again but he still believes. My mom’s like that. She still finds joy. I find that amazing.
